Saville Exchange is a beautiful Grade II listed building on the corner of Howard and Saville Streets in North Shields. It incorporates a performance space created in 2001 from the disused Wesleyan Chapel of 1856. It has excellent acoustics, seats 280 people, has disabled access/facilities, ample parking, two bars and a superb restaurant attached. This is THE place on Tyneside to hear the best in traditional jazz in civilised surroundings!

The Vortex

Having spent much of the 1980s and 1990s attempting to preach, via Radio 3, The Times, the Independent etc. to the unconverted about the unique qualities of British jazz and the vital role in promoting same played by clubs such as the Vortex and 606, Chris Parker - having successfully alienated numerous arts editors with this policy - now intends to preach the same message to the converted by reviewing Vortex regulars' gigs and CDs.
