You can also use these marvellous things to safely pull out the bridge pins of your acoustic guitar - I have a student that almost caused irreparable damaged to their guitar by pulling with so much force that the spars inside the guitar started to splinter.  Luckily a local luthier was able to fix it for £25, but it could have been far worse.
