MIDI Links
These links have provided me with invaluable information when trying to understand MIDI
Programming. Hopefully, if you're just starting out, you'll find them useful too.
The MIDI Manufacturers Association - The MIDI
Manufacturers Association (also known as "MMA") is where companies work together
to create the standards that assure compatibility among MIDI products. Since 1985 the MMA
has produced 11 new specifications and adopted 38 sets of enhancements to MIDI.
MIDI-OX - invaluable (and free!) tool for
inspecting testing and saving Sysex.
Using MIDI APIs
(winmm.dll) from the excellent site www.borg.com
MIDI Reference - explains
standard MIDI commands recognised by most MIDI hardware
MicroSoft
MIDI Reference - Official MS website explaining all the MIDI API calls. Like
most MS documentation, it assumes you already know so much. To me, it only starts to make
sense once you already understand (!).
More on Using MIDI
APIs (winmm.dll) by Leslie Sanford - includes demo code.
